Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the Parliamentary Elections in Tunisia
It was reported that the voting process monitored by up to three thousand international and more than ten thousand domestic election observers was duly organized, and the turnout was perceptibly high. Sunday’s vote demonstrated how committed the Tunisian people are to freedom and democracy, as well as to their determination to build a modern and flourishing state.
It is important that elections to the parliament and presidential elections to be held on November 23, 2014 will put an end to Tunisia’s political transition period, and its newly-elected leadership will launch reforms expected by the Tunisian society.
Ukraine looks forward to rapid reviving of its dynamic bilateral cooperation with Tunisia in the areas of common interest, in particular on political, trade and economic, scientific and educational levels.
